August 11th is not a very interesting day in history. On this day in 1934 the first prisoners arrived on Alcatraz. The Chevy Camero hit the streets on August 11, 1966 and mullets followed on August 12, 1966. On this day in 1984, Ronald Reagan spoke of wanting to outlaw the Soviet Union. Alex Haley always called this day "Happy Birthday". In 1806 on this day Merriweather Lewis of Lewis and Clark fame was shot in the hip. Probably by one of his own men. Andrew Carnegie decided on this day in 1919 that he had had all this fun he could stand and checked out for good. August 11, 1967 was the day my brother Frank forced brother Paul and I to share a room for the next 20 years. Happy birthday Frank.
Yawn....
